Thank you for your interest in joining us here at Torquay Girls’ Grammar School.
We have been educating bright students from Devon for over one hundred years now. The outcomes for young people who come here are excellent; our academic results place us as one of the top schools nationally for both attainment and progress. Ofsted rate us as outstanding in all categories and our students go on to top universities, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
However, these facts do not convey the real essence of our school, which is more about a way of thinking. It is about helping our pupils to believe they can achieve anything.

Our Curriculum
Our curriculum intent is to realise our vision to equip students for a future in which they have the academic qualifications, character skills and high self-esteem to make decisions that lead to long, happy and content lives.
As an Academy, we focus on the individual student. We want them to achieve the best possible academic outcomes, but in preparing them for their next steps we know that is not enough; they need to develop their character skills and be able to articulate them as they progress through their career.

Geology Day Thank YouGood morning, I wanted to pass on my heartfelt thanks for the wonderful card we received from Mrs Beal at the end of last week. She sent us a lovely hand written card congratulating our daughter for her entry into the creative writing competition recently. We were all impressed and encouraged by the recognition for her efforts and the boost this simple card has given to her confidence. Something the school does extremely well. Heartfelt ThanksDear Mrs Saunders Just a quick note to say a huge thank you to you and your colleagues for looking after the girls so well on Battlefields and making it such a memorable trip Before she went, our daughter was simply excited about going away with her friends abroad for a few days and i honestly don't think she had any idea of the impact the trip would have. She couldn't stop talking about it all and how it brought what happened in WW1 to life. It was great to hear her talking so passionately and with heart. Definitely a trip she will always remember. She was nervous but okay until a group of confident girls arrived and then I could see her worrying and getting upset.
