The Torbay Charter is launched!
Back in February 2025, our Head Girl Team and Year 12 students met with Torbay MP Steve Darling to discuss workplace harassment, following a survey conducted by our students. Mr Darling very kindly took this to Westminster.
Our students met with Mr Darling again in June 2025, when a round table discussion took place with local businesses, with the aim of introducing a workplace charter.
Fast forward a few months and we extremely proud to announce the Torbay Charter!!
Local businesses, students and their families from TGGS, local and regional media, and members of Torbay Council will be in attendance at the official campaign launch. This event will serve as an important platform for businesses to reaffirm their commitment to the Torbay 10-point Charter created by our students, aimed at protecting staff from harassment and misogyny, and ensuring a safe workplace.
The Charter will be displayed so that the public and employees can see the values the organisation upholds, to help ensure that young people feel safe and supported in their workplaces.
The launch will take place on 23 January, from 16:00 until 18:00 at South Devon College, Paignton - families and businesses welcome. Attendance to the event should be confirmed to: anna.zagrebelna@parliament.uk.
NOW THAT is a RESULT and proof that, with hardwork and determination, our students can achieve anything they set their minds to ![]()
Thank you and well done to everyone involved ![]()
