Today we are celebrating another year of exceptional GCSE results at TGGS, with the proportion of top grades (7-9) rising even higher than last year!
Congratulations to all of our students, whose hard work, determination and resilience have delivered some truly remarkable achievements. Special recognition goes to:
⭐ Calla Banner - 10 Grade 9s
⭐ Lottie Fyfe - 9 Grade 9s
⭐ Catherine Alcock, Yasmine Yelland, Beth Moseley and Amy Everett - 7 Grade 9s each
This year's success is reflected across the curriculum, with strong performance in both STEM and creative subjects, giving students a wide range of opportunities as they progress to A Levels in our mixed Sixth Form, TG6.
We're also particularly proud that students eligible for Free School Meals achieved results that significantly outperform national averages, demonstrating that at TGGS, background need not determine future success.
The results reflect our commitment to high expectations, targeted support, and developing the whole child so that every student can confidently pursue their future ambitions.
Headteacher Ms Sarah Forster said:
"I am immensely proud of each and every one of our students today. These results are the product of hard work, resilience and real ambition from our students, matched by the dedication of our staff. I want to congratulate the students and look forward to welcoming them back into our sixth form and continuing their success as they enter the next stage of their journey.
Finally, I’d like to remind our students that your results are only one part of your story. No one is handing out certificates for 9s in kindness and compassion, but these qualities matter just as much as academic achievement. We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and look forward to seeing the positive impact you make in the future."
Congratulations to all our students, staff and families on this fantastic achievement!
