Having already been crowned Devon Champions, TGGS travelled to Cornwood to face Cornwall’s top schools for the chance to become South West Champions.
The girls were superb in their opening game, producing a dominant all-round team performance that highlighted the unity, talent and teamwork that have made them so successful this season.
With everything resting on the final match, reduced to 10 overs due to the weather, TGGS chased hard after Cornwall posted 105. Despite a brilliant fightback led by Bobby (44 not out) and Mary (22 not out), they finished just 12 runs short.
Although they beat the team that eventually progressed, TGGS narrowly missed out on qualification on Net Run Rate, putting an end to the Lord's dream.
