Cross-country results

On Monday, 15th November students from Years 7 to 11 went to Stover to compete in the South Devon Area Cross Country.

Maisey Dommett led the way from the start and won the Year 7 race, with Lily Bates coming in fourth place. All of the runners did very well meaning the year 7 team won the overall team place. The rest of the team were: Avalon Vowles; Freya Goodman; Aysha Leech and Jessica Fyfe.

In the Year 8 and 9 event, Molly Canham from Year 8 won, and Megan Webber came third.  The rest of the team also did well, meaning they too won the overall award. The rest of the team and their positions were: Anna Garilenko sixth, Sophie Burden seventh, Ella Farley seventeenth, and Izzy Tyler twenty-firstst out of more than seventy runners.

In the Year 10 and 11 team, Olivia Rawlings came first with Lauren Coleman coming in third place. The rest of the team also did very well, with Charlotte Hanbury placed eighth, Clara Smith was ninth and Francesca Perren-Smart was sixteenth out of more than fifty runners.  This meant that they too won the overall competition.

The following girls will now represent South Devon at the Devon Cross Country Competition in January: Maisey Dommett; Lily Bates; Aysha, Leech, Avalon Vowles, Jessica Fyfe, Molly Canham, Megan Webber, Anna Gavrilenko, Sophie Burden, Olivia Rawlings, Lauren Coleman, Charlotte Hanbury, Clara Smith and Francesca Perren Smart.

Thank you very much and very well done to all the competitors.
