Monday 14th October

All Year 7 – 11 Students

 

Congratulations to the year 10 netball team who travelled to Colyton Grammar to play a cup again. It was a 'nail biting' game throughout with Colyton ahead for the first 3 quarters. Then in the final quarter TGGS pulled ahead and won 19 / 18. Everyone played exceptionally well.

 

Are you a Wonderful Wordsmith? A Super-Scrabbler? Are you interested in competing in a competition to test your language skills alongside the world's best?

The World Junior Scrabble Championship is coming to Torquay this November and we have been offered some free entry spaces. If you are interested in taking part in this incredible opportunity, please give your name and form to Main Reception by half-term.

 

Y7 & 8 Only - TBGS will be hosting a Halloween Disco on Wednesday 16th October between 7pm and 9pm and is open to years 7 & 8 only. Tickets will be £3 in advance, which are available from Reception during break and lunch or £3.50 on the door. The event will be held in the Bistro over at TBGS. Tickets are first come basis and the tickets sales will close at lunch on Tuesday 15th October. Tickets are selling fast!

 

Y8-11: There are now some more French theatre tickets available for Thursday 17th October. Please go onto Parent Pay to book your ticket!! See the posters in the MFL dept for more details.

 

There will be a revision session on Christian beliefs in room 7 at 1.15 today. All GCSE RS students welcome.

 

If there are an Mary Poppins cast members who would like to come along to choir and orchestra this week to get stuck into some Christmas music, please do! Choir at 1pm today, orchestra at 1pm tomorrow.

 

Joint orchestra are working towards the TBGS autumn concert as well - Wednesday at the start of lunch

 

There will be a cake sale at the student shop today at lunchtime . Please come along and buy some cakes as all money raised is donated to the lepra charity.

 

Year 7

 

Zumba: As a reward for your Lepra fundraising you have your Zumba session in the Old Hall tomorrow, Tuesday 15th, as follows:-

R & W - 2.45-3.15pm (go straight to the Old Hall)

B,C,J - 3.15 - 3.45 (leave your bags in your classroom)

Please bring trainers to wear and do not forget to bring your envelopes. Mrs Fox

 

Assembly tomorrow (Tuesday) in Burton Hall about the trip to Exeter. Please bring planner and a pen

 

Year 9

 

Could all the remaining pupils who have not as yet paid for the Aquarium trip please do so by the end of Tues. There is an assembly on Weds morning to go over the trip and I'd like all payments completed by then.

Year 10

 

Thank you to those of you who applied for the KS4 committee, you will receive a Date and time for your interview by email so look out for this. Mrs Lamacraft has given you all some achievement points for your application.

 

Ten Tors 35 mile challenge

If you are really keen to take-on the training phase of the challenge, your first step is to collect a letter and application form from Dr Coles (a deadline applies, so don't delay). You will find him in Enrichment House at break or lunch times.
