Friday 5th April 

 

All Year 7 – 11 Students

 

There is absolutely No Eating or Drinking in the Study Centre!

 

House Point totals are:

  

House Crest Competition

Years 7-10, we would like to encourage you to take a copy of the crest / coat of arms template home over the holidays to work on your design, ready to submit your entry by the deadline (Thursday 25th April). Spare copies of the template can be collected from reception. 

Remember – house points for all entries, additional house points for the chosen design.

 

There will be a uniform sale down in the sports hall today at lunchtime. Second hand items will be £3 and new items will be £5. The sale will run from 12.45 - 1.15pm. Final day of uniform sale and lost property. Please come down to collect lost property if your name was on the list given on Wednesday. Thank you.

 

Please remember to take your PE kits home for washing today.

 

Lower School Magazine. 

·         Reminder, please will all Form Captains make sure that the lilac poster created by the Y9 Key Stage Leaders giving details of features needed for the magazine is put on the Form Notice Board.

·         All Lower School students have been sent a copy of this to their school email and there will be a short meeting for all KS3 students who are interested in contributing a feature or article to the magazine today Friday 5th April at 1pm in the Lecture Theatre – this is a real great opportunity to develop many valuable skills and/or share a passion or interest with your peers, teachers and parents! 

·         All KS3 Form Ambassadors also need to come along to this meeting on Friday please.  

Please will all students bring a pen and their Student Planner to the meeting.

There will be a Lower School Mufti Day for students in year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 on the last day of term (Friday 5th April). Please will all students who wish to take part bring their £1 as usual. The money raised will be split equally between Rowcroft Hospice and Water Aid. Thank you, Mr Charlwood

The television production company Love Productions- the team behind the UK’s much loved baking show The Great British Bake Off and The Great British Sewing Bee - are delighted to announce that JUNIOR BAKE OFF IS BACK for a 5thSeries on Channel 4 and applications are now open! They are looking for talented young bakers between 9 -15 years old. Filming would take place from late July 2019 and applications close Monday 6th May 2019.

Congratulations to all the teams who have taken part in the Easter Hunt this week. 

Taking into account the places of Year 7, 8 and 9 teams, the results this year were:

1st - Jackson 

2nd - Cross and 

3rd place was a tie for Robertson and Wilkinson. 

5th - Beal

House points have been awarded to the individuals who took part and to the houses overall.

Well done to everyone.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part in house competitions this term, we are excited to see you all entering into the spirit of house culture after Easter with exciting competitions including: TGGS MasterChef, House Games, Sports Day and House Shout!

 

Well done to all those in Year 8 who entered the History Egg competition (decorating eggs as historical characters!) some superb efforts! Thank you to Miss Matthews for organising the competition. 

All entries received house points and the individuals who came top in their form have been given some additional points too.

 

Year 7

 

Please could 7R go to the sports hall for their PE lesson - NOT straight to the old hall. Thanks, Miss Fray.

 

Year 8

Year 9

 

There will be an assembly for all Year 9 students on Friday (5th April) in the Lecture Theatre at 9am. Thanks, Mr Charlwood and Mrs Fox

  

Year 10

 

10En6: Miss Cross' English group: Apologies for being away. Please finish and learn your spoken language pieces of writing over the Easter break. You can use prompt cards with bullet points to help you remember, and images on a whiteboard if it will enhance your presentation. We will start them the first week back. Thank you. Miss Cross.

 

Reminder to Year 10 and 11 Geology students, there will be a revision session held every Friday in IT1 starting at 1.00 pm.  Please come along if you need reminding of the key notes in each theme.

 

Years 10-12: If you would like to know more about the law apprenticeships scheme, then please e-mail Mr Gregory and he will send you some details.

Year 11 Food Preparation and Nutrition students.  If you haven't already done so, please make sure that you have submitted your NEA2 to me either by email, on Teams, or in person, by 4pm today. As I have already told you, this applies whether it is completely finished or not. Also you must hand me your draft copy without fail today. Thank you, Mrs Heathcote
