"Class of 2014" A-level Results

This year's A-level results were amongst the best in our school’s history, and ensure that TGGS remains firmly established as one of the leading centres for A-level provision in the country. Overall, the pass rate was 100%, 75% of grades were awarded at A* - B and a striking 25% of students achieved three or more A grades.  Moreover, the overwhelming majority of girls were thrilled to get into the universities of their choice, including those competing for the highly-competitive Russell Group and Oxbridge places. 

Director of Sixth Form Mr James Gregory paid tribute to the approach of the ‘Class of 2014’ saying; “The girls in this particular year group managed to not only enjoy school and give to the local community, but were able to work really hard to achieve their ambitious goals – the staff here are really pleased for them.’   

Headteacher Dr Nick Smith commented: “Our students and staff have persevered despite the bewildering stream of Government initiated changes to the examination system. Once again they have been rewarded with the superb results they deserve. Congratulations to all our students on their remarkable achievements; some of which do not always feature in the headline figures.’
