Torquay Girls’ Grammar Year 11 Students achieve great GCSE success!

There were broad smiles all round from the students and staff at Torquay Girls’ Grammar School when the GCSE results were released. The school continued its record of outstanding results with over 70% of all grades being either A* or A.  80% of the year group achieved at least 5A*/A grades.

Head teacher, Dr Nick Smith, paid tribute to the girls. ‘Despite the national turbulence surrounding GCSE grades, the staff and students have put their heads down and worked really hard. These fantastic results are a just reward. Particularly noteworthy were the thirty-two girls who achieved all A*/A grades, but all our students have achieved results of which they can be very proud. We offer our warmest congratulations to all the girls, and look forward to seeing them in September when they return to our Sixth Form.
