The first Challenge Day of the academic year took place on Friday with students enjoying a wide range of activities, on and off-site,
On-site, year 11 took part in a "Code and Ciphers" day to allow them to participate in a range of problem solving activities with the use of computational and algorithmic thinking at their heart (see pic of little computer programmed robot!). This allowed the school to build on the excellent work across all departments in the delivery of the National Curriculum for Computer Science at Key Stage 4.
Y10 students took part in a Mock Assessment day with a large range of local employers and training providers, to help ensure their preparedness for their work experience placements.
For KS3 students, activities included a Y7 'Wellbeing Day', Y8 visited Morwellham Quay for History and Y9 visited Plymouth Aquarium - building on their Art aquarium project.
For the students on-site, they were treated to some end of day 'Just Dance' time - always a great activity to get everybody up & moving (if you're coordinated)!!
