GCSE Food Trip to Bristol...

A coach load of Year 10s toured the Gurwara Guru Nanak Prakash Singh Sabah Sikh temple hosted by award-winning Sikh community leader Dilawer Singh Potiwal from Bristol City Council for a presentation on Sikhism, food and cooking - and enjoyed a huge variety of amazing Langar Sikh food.

Then there was a fascinating tour of Indian sweet shops, and a Religious Foods Treasure Hunt around five specialist international supermarkets with free samplings along the way.

Followed by lunch... at the multi-award winning Thali Easton curry and tiffin street food eatery judged as Best Takeaway in the BBC Radio 4 Food & Farming Awards!

Then a tour of the fabulous Easton Jamia Muslim Mosque hosted by Muslim community leader Majid Younis and the Iman, a presentation on Islam and food, and sharing of yet more traditional foods with everyone.

Finally a visit to a Halal butcher with the owner of a chain of Pak Halal shops and visiting some Muslim sweet shops before returning home.
