Fun in the Sixth Form!

Alongside academic excellence, supporting student wellbeing is one of the main strengths of the TGGS Sixth Form. Our sixth form community offers an exciting hub of fun activities and opportunities to relax with friends and the sixth form pastoral team.

There are numerous residential trips on offer– London; Iceland; France; Germany; Kenya; Poland – to name a few. These trips cement old friendships and create genuine bonds between students who may not previously have known each other that well;

Ten Tors & D of E – These are optional activities which are very popular every year, they allow students to develop a huge skill-set and experience team spirit and camaraderie;

The numerous enrichment activities. These typically involve students working as part of a team and we work hard to deliver a really diverse programme, offering activities to suit all tastes.

In the Sixth Form we have a busy social calendar spanning the two years of sixth form study. This includes: inter-form bowling, a Bude residential, Air Hop Bristol, a Theatre trip to Plymouth and a Paddleboard and Water Sports summer excursion. Other highlights of the social calendar include the Christmas Sixth Form Lunch, the Dartington Celebration Evening and the Leavers’ Ball held in conjunction with the Boys’ School.

The best fun comes from the daily interaction in the Sixth Form; time and time again, students say that the best thing about Years 12 and 13 is the friendly atmosphere, both between the students and staff alike. For those who like to relax and unwind, the sixth form coffee shop will be an appealing attraction, and for those who are more energetic, the school gym has excellent facilities and designated time set aside, just for sixth form students.
