The opening plenary session featured talks from alumnae Dr Charlotte Drewett and Ruby Clemans on their medical and psychology careers, and from Dr Laura Mather of Greenbay Vets in Torquay. 

Afterwards all students took part in three sessions, rotating between a carousel of stands and workshops run by Bath, UWE, Exeter and Plymouth universities, as well as our local Physio Outreach, the Devon Medical Heritage Trust, the TGGS Year 13 MedSoc Committee, and 9 of our recent alumnae studying a range of healthcare and vet courses.  The carousel featured 30 stands representing many aspects of medicine, vet med and nursing, psychology, allied health professions and healthcare sciences.  

We are hugely grateful to all the alumnae, parents and friends of the school from Torbay and RDUH NHS trusts for their time and enthusiasm in sharing about their roles with so many engaged students, and to those staff who gave up their Saturday to run the event.

The programme of events is below. The evening will include an introductory talk from the Head of Sixth Form and the Sixth Form Leadership Team. You can also get an overview of UCAS, Oxbridge and Medic and Careers Programmes on offer – enabling our students to access the most competitive university courses, careers and apprenticeships.

We hope that by attending this event it will allow both students and parents to appreciate not only the academic programme, but also the opportunities for enrichment, personal development and the community feel that our Outstanding Sixth Form has to offer.

Refreshments will be available throughout the evening in our Sixth Form Cafe.

Students were joined by family and friends for an inspirational evening of music, memories, and exciting plans for next steps. All performances and speeches were exceptional, and the evening drew to a close with all students taking to the stage to sing the school song for one final time.
